Barbican soup kitchen

The DLR is looking forward to this Friday’s JAM-PACKED performance event at the Barbican, More Soup and Tart, with participants including Christian Marclay, Rosemary Butcher, Andrew Kotting and Tom Woolner. Woolner’s recent performance at the Site Gallery in Sheffield was terrific, mixing pageantry, the grotesque and English folk tropes in a three-act performance about rise and fall of man (the Site Gallery has a text on this work here):

Tom Woolner, An Evening with Archimboldo, 2011.

Tom Woolner, An Evening with Archimboldo, 2011. He meets his lady wife.

Those chaps are his testicles.

Tom Woolner, An Evening with Archimboldo, 2011. And the fall begins.

Tom Woolner, An Evening with Archimboldo, 2011. He passes gallstones.
